Inola Continues Driving Wastewater System Improvements; EID Report Available

Inola Public Works Authority is seeking funding to complete improvements to the existing wastewater system for the Town of Inola. These improvements will be made to bring the system into compliance of regulatory standards by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. As a requirement for this project, the Inola Public Works is publicly posting the Environmental Information Document for this project. Just click the link to access online or download.
The proposed improvements/repairs to the wastewater system would include:
Construct a new interceptor wastewater line including 1,119 L.F. of 18”, 3,802 L.F. of 15” and 819 L.F. of 8” PVC. The line will cross through Sections 8 and 9, Township 19 North, Range 17 East, Rogers County and includes 335 LF of railroad bore of 36” casing;
Construct a new 2.75 MGD Triplex lift station at the existing wastewater treatment plant site in Section 9, Township 19 North, Range 17 East, Rogers County (replacing an existing lift station at the plant and Lift Station No. 1 in the collection system);
Construct 111 L. F. of 10” PVC force main from new lift station to the existing lagoons;
Repair and/or replace approximately 24 manholes along the route of interceptor line.
There will be a public hearing on this project on May 14th. Additional details on the hearing will be provided as we get closer to this date.
Town Council and PWA Meetings Moved to Calvary Baptist Church Annex for April 13th Meeting

In an effort to follow CDC guidelines regarding the Covid-19/Corona virus pandemic, the town leadership has decided officially to move the regular Board of Trustees (town council) and Public Work Authority meetings to the Calvary Baptist Church Annex at 20 S. Broadway, Inola, OK.
Long Awaited Sidewalk Project Begins in Inola

The Safe Routes to School project is finally underway and new sidewalks are being constructed along the route to the Elementary School. This has been a long awaited project that will improve walking and bicycling conditions by constructing continuous sidewalks from the Inola Elemmentary School to the Inola Middle and High Schools.
Plans are to have a complete walking trail surrounding the Town of Inola making it more convenient for all citizens including those with disabilities to enjoy.

Back-to-School Block Party was Great Success!

Inola completed their annual scavenger hunt for school supplies sponsored on Saturday, August 3rd. This event hosted and managed by the Inola Chamber of Commerce and Inola Educational Enrichment Foundation is a huge benefit to our local school children and parents.
Sofidel America Adding More Jobs

The Sofidel plant located just outside Inola is hiring an additional 150 jobs as the plant ramps up new operation. They held a job fair in partnership with the Muscogee Creek Nation on Monday, July 29th at Sofidel’s current tissue paper facility, 420 S. 145th East Ave. in Tulsa. The new facility outside Inola will house a factory on 50 acres under roof and will be the largest employer in the Inola 74036 zip code to date.
